Constance Hotels offers professional training courses

A career in tourism… Working in a paradise-like environment, driven by a philosophy of excellence… The dream of many youngsters in Mauritius. This is what led Constance Hotels and Resorts to take on the mission of training young Mauritians in the hotel industry with COMET (Constance Management Experience Training), a management training programme offered in its hotels.

This one-year fully paid programme provides young people with advanced training in the main hotel activities. A first batch of four young people has already been selected for the programme.

“Despite the health crisis caused by COVID-19, we have invested in this programme because we want to give our young people the chance to find a job. We have faith in the youth of Mauritius. We strongly believe in the revival of the local tourism sector, and we want the young people to be at the heart of it,” says Vincent De Marasse Enouf, Chief Human Resource Officer of the group.

COMET aims to identify and develop young talents for their onward leadership role at Constance through a six-month training course in various departments – catering, reception, housekeeping, and so forth – so that they are more likely to take on a leadership role in the future. They will be more inclined to specialise in the field of their choice before joining and leading a project over the same period.

Candidates will also attend nine online masterclasses, delivered through the Constance Academy. They will have free access to four months of LinkedIn Learning, an educational platform that will allow them to develop their autonomy and sharpen their skills.

Through this training programme, Constance Hotels and Resorts aims to foster young people to thrive in the jobs they are sure to obtain within the group.
