Gilbert Espitalier-Noel has been appointed as the new Managing Director of ENL Group to succeed present position holder, Hector Espitalier-Noel. The latter has announced his intention to retire shortly after reaching 65 years old.
To this effect, ENL’s Board of Directors formally endorsed on October 10th the appointment of Gilbert Espitalier-Noël as head of the group as of July 1st 2023.
Hector Espitalier-Noël has led ENL for 33 years, transforming it from a traditional family business to a dynamic, modern, and well diversified group. The group ranks among the top ten listed companies with assets of around Rs 83 billion and a turnover of around Rs 18 billion.
An established businessman
“I will hand over the management of ENL to Gilbert with confidence. ENL is a dynamic group, built on solid foundations and with good growth prospects. Gilbert is the right person to ensure continuity, while bringing new energy to the teams. He is an experienced entrepreneur who is strongly committed to the values and culture of our group. I trust that he will be able to lead ENL to new heights of excellence,” said Hector Espitalier-Noël.
Gilbert Espitalier-Noël is currently the head of New Mauritius Hotels. He is a graduate of the University of Cape Town, Louisiana State University and INSEAD. He has considerable experience in business management, development of large-scale real estate projects and in maintaining relations between the private and public sectors.
Under his leadership, ENL developed Bagatelle Mall, La-Balise-Marina Resort in Black River, and implemented the Smart City of Moka.
