Golf & Gourmet Trophy: For the greatest delight of golfers

Sun Resorts Group has organised the 5th edition of the Golf & Gourmet Trophy, from the 24th of March to the 2nd of April. Once again, the event was in the limelight, matching the prominent success of the group. Indeed, Sun Resorts is applauded for managing four legendary hotels in Mauritius (La Pirogue, Sugar Beach, Long Beach and Ambre), as well as the prestigious resort of Ile aux Cerfs and its golf course, designed by Bernard Langer, which hosts world-renowned championships…

With a glow of pleasure, the golfers have been introduced to high-end cuisine in an exquisite setting… The lucky sportsmen have been able to relish cheerful moments as they nestled in two of the Sun Resorts 5-star hotels: Long Beach and Sugar Beach. They have also been delighted to play on the golf courses of Ile aux Cerfs, Tamarina, Avalon and Anahita as well …

Local flavours in the spotlight

For this 5th edition, 3 reputable international Chefs – French starred-Chef Jean-Pierre Vigato, along with  the South African starred-Chef Reuben Riffel, and the German Chef Fabio Haebel – have graciously shared their recipes and best advice with the guests. The first two chefs had already manifested the extent of their talent at the Long Beach Tee & Toque Trophy last year.

The highlight of the event occurred on the 28th of March at the Long Beach Hotel; a master cooking class of high-class cuisine was offered to golfers … Inspired by Mauritian flavours, the Chefs have dignified our local products … And the delicacies of the lagoon were under the spotlight! Jean-Pierre Vigato devised the recipe for a day well spent and satiated taste buds: a fresh and tasty menu of crab tartare.

The Chefs have had a lot on their plate on the 30th of March; they have been busy in the kitchen of the Sugar Beach Hotel for a sumptuous 6-hand dinner.

Hence, on such ethereal note,  the 5th edition of the Golf & Gourmet Trophy ended … for the greatest delight of the lucky guests!
