It was mixology month in the One&Only hotels and, from September 18th to 20th, One&Only Le Saint Géran hosted famed mixologist Peter Good who made African flavours shine. A month dedicated to flavours, cocktails, and creativity: this is food for thought. One&Only hotels once again made a bold move by creating mixology month, an exceptional event which aims at exporting the best mixologists of every country out to the most pristine and sought-after destinations of the world.
One&Only Shake Up
The best occasion to promote encounters: between different tastes, but also human beings, by allowing guests of the prestigious hotel chain to meet world-known mixologists. The One&Only Shake Up is a series of tantalizing and oh-so exciting pop-up cocktail bars which gather, in only one month, seven experts to transcend the guests’ taste buds.
Peter Good, expert mixologist
His inventivity preceded him. Peter Good, from the trendy Mootee bar in Johannesburg shared his gift for unexpected mixes. Like a storyteller, he does more than combining liquors; he relates his experiences on the continent, and makes the public discover his land through his Art. His three days’ residency at la Pointe, One&Only Le Saint Géran’s chic bar, in partnership with the Médine distillery, have indeed allowed the guests to discover his star cocktail named Umfazi.

The name on everybody’s lips: Umfazi
This means married woman. Stemming from Zulu inspiration, this drink is a perfect mix of Penny Blue rum from the Médine distillery, Bombay Sapphire gin, lemon sherbert, Gooseberry Vermouth, with a hint of butter. This cocktail, which pays tribute to women, is captivating yet subtle, but mostly has a strong character.
