In a strong ecological effort, the Sun Resorts hotel group is setting a challenge to its employees to celebrate World Earth Day: the #plantatreechallenge. Indeed, they are invited to get their shovels and plant a tree at home.
What a fun and valuable competition to honour Mother Nature!
Restore Our Earth
Organised annually since 1970 by earthday.org, the World Earth Day was created to educate and launch environmental movements around the world. This year, the theme is “Restore Our Earth”… A call for the restoration of trees and plants for a greener world.
François Eynaud, CEO of Sun Resorts, kicked off the competition by planting a coconut tree in his garden. He underlines:
“This great initiative is an opportunity for all members of the Sun Resorts family to make a symbolic contribution in order to commit ourselves to a common cause. All together, we can help restore our earth.”
When eco-responsibility is rewarded
The planting of trees is crucial in the fight against global warming, as they provide air and water purification and sanitation. This is why this challenge greatly contributes to the well-being of the earth and the environment.
The #plantatreechallenge competition will be ongoing for several weeks, till the World Environment Day on the 5th of June. It will be on this date that the hotel group will unveil the number of trees planted as well as the lucky winners of the competition. The reward? A trophy to congratulate the department or entity of Sun Resort with the highest turnout.
A good example to follow!
