En route for our third Luxury road trip! After the North and the West, we now invite you to discover the East of Mauritius, or “La Côte Sauvage” (wild coast), as some locals may call it. Indeed, as one of the least impacted regions by mass tourism, the East offers a complete mosaic of our island wonders. Hit the road for a lush nature, pristine sandy beaches, a crystal clear sea, and magnificent restaurants and luxury hotels. How delightful!

The several available trails will take you on a discovery of ancient ruins of a sugar factory and the endemic species of the island, including eucalyptus and acacia tress. The Bras d’Eau National Park, inaugurated in 2011 after the Black River Gorges, is an invaluable and precious natural gem.
Third stop: Lunch and massage at Shangri-La Le Touessrok
What could be better than having lunch then a massage in a heavenly setting after a long walk? Head to Shangri-La Le Touessrok for a relaxing afternoon at their private island: îlot Mangénie.
The Beach Restaurant offers several options which will delight your taste buds. You can also dive into the crystal-clear sea and relax in their small cabins available on the beach, or enjoy a massage on the private island. Ideal for recovering from your hike!
Fourth stop: The Bubble Lodge of Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club
Last but not least, head to the Sun Resorts Bubble Lodge. To end your discovery of the East with style, a late afternoon and an evening under the stars on Ile aux Cerfs are ideal.
For the more athletic ones, consider the Golf Club and the 18-hole course on 38 hectares designed by the famous golfer Bernhard Langer, for the next day. Finally, to end this splendid day, savour a cocktail at the beach bar followed by a romantic dinner under the stars, before returning to your small lodge nestled in the heart of breathtaking nature.
It’s hard not to fall in love with the East Coast, which has managed to keep such an authenticity. We are fascinated by the tableau of the local farmers cultivating their fields, the horses walking on the amorphous coastal road, these endless beaches, and this azure lagoon which stretches for miles seeming to melt in the sky.
