Art as a choice at One&Only Le Saint Géran
Local as well as international artists have brought together their inspirations and creative minds to transformed to create the ultimate Mauritian experience for today’s discerning travellers, with local nature, materials, craftsmanship and service at the heart of each re-imagined space on the East coast. Ten famous brands are now hosted in the hotel boutique including a usual guest, Marie France Van Damme who here celebrates her 20th partnership. As for the gifted jeweller Patrick Mavros, famous for his jewelleries inspired by the majestic beauties of the African fauna, he has designed a special piece which will be offered to One&Only Le Saint Géran in March 2018. Then comes sculptor Dong whose fertile imagination has produced two magnificent masterpieces (including a starfish fresque which illuminates the reception area).
Worth underlining is the talent od two local artists who have shared their views of beautiful Mauritius: Hélène de Senneville, heartily influenced by nature, and Sharon Thompson, an underwater world lover.
The magnificent premium villa premium, one of the key landscapes of the resort, has been dressed with a silk and hand-embroidered panel in India while its huge wooden TV furniture has been crafted locally. The latter bears an overwhelming sculpture painted with mother-of-pearl, a unique piece crafted for this unique furniture.
A new look on the treasures of Mauritius island
Outside the exclusive seclusion of the One&Only Le Saint Géran, customized experiences are as profuse. Thus, there will also be the exclusive opportunity for guests to explore Mauritius with the One&Only Le Saint Géran team as their expert guides. General Manager Charles de Foucault, a great Harley Davidson enthusiast, has designed a Born To Be Wild tour of the island on two wheels, filled with his personal insights, favourite places and memories.
Those looking for an ocean adventure, can Meet The Sharks with Hotel Manager Michele Giraudo, PADI Divemaster and accredited SSI Shark Ecology specialist, who will lead guests on the trip of a lifetime to meet these captivating Indian Ocean neighbours. Guests will board the hotel’s luxury Legend 33 speedboat and head to Fosse aux Requins and The Cathedral, to swim with up to fifty Grey Reef and White Tip sharks in crystal clear waters.
Guests can take flight by helicopter from One&Only Le Saint Géran and have the opportunity to experience Mauritius as never before and discover the incredible Underwater Waterfall. This 30-minute ride to will allow views of this extraordinary sight just off the coast of Le Morne on the South-West of the Island, a spectacular illusion caused by silt movement on the ocean bed.
