The establishment is known for its multiple collaborations with star chefs. The Château Mon Désir will, from the 9th to the 12th May, host chef Paolo Cappuccio for an exceptional menu. The Maritim Resort & Spa shines a light on gastronomy by organising this culinary event, in collaboration with the ITEAT Academy (institution proposing original culinary courses in the field of Italian cuisine in Mauritius). The program? A menu that was expertly crafted by the chef for the public, as well as training for chefs.
The chef with a star-studded path
The young and talented Paolo Cappuccio’s journey started in Naples. After discovering his vocation at only 14 years old, the young Italian followed his passion which brought him to travel all over Europe. On a quest for new flavours and experiences, the young man has been trained by various schools. Among these institutions, the prestigious Lenôtre, where he met the illustrious chef Joel Robuchon.
It is therefore not surprising that his career took a turn for luxury hospitality. Having worked for Milan’s Palace Hotel, and Malta’s Westin Palace Hotel among others, it was only when he got back to his motherland, and worked at Madonna Di Campiglio that he received his first Michelin star, henceforth becoming the establishment’s first Michelin-star chef.
One mission: charm your tastebuds
It is the ultimate goal represented by an experience at the Château Mon Désir. The chef will, from the 9th to the 12th May, present a 7-course menu, specially chosen for the occasion. But the traditional Sunday brunch has not been forgotten either. The chef also designed a buffet to upkeep the restaurant’s own culinary tradition.
The gastronomic evenings from the 9th to 12th May include a welcome cocktail and canapés, followed by dinner. Rs 3,790 pax. A supplementary fee of Rs 1 990 will include the sommelier’s special selection. The gourmet brunch on the 13th May will include a buffet, a glass of sparkling wine, as well as a selection of refreshments and hot drinks, for Rs 1,990 pax.
