Bustling activity and impatience were finely tuned down by the friendly atmosphere at the launching ceremony of the last treasure from the Range Rover range, the Velar, on Thursday the 26th of October 2017 at l’ENL House, Vivea Business Park, in Moka. Orchestrated by the car dealer Axess, the launching of the new range of long-wheel base VUS, of the British car constructor Land Rover, has set the brand lovers’s aglow. Luxury Mauritius was one of the lucky few to attend the first public appearance of the paragon of luxury and power.
The Range Rover Velar was bearing its whole set of adornments for the evening: a full-fledged look; serial equipment; assistance systems devised to offer the best in terms of ‘in-car entertainment’ and driving and an unprecedented comfort. Following the same tradition as all the Land Rover vehicles with the same features, the Velar is an off-road car and, as underlined by Armand Fleur d’Epine, Land Rover Brand Manager at Axess, during the launching ceremony :
« It’s a vehicle which considers everything and which intends to offer a new youth to its VUS range. The aim is to seduce the new generation of purchasers without, however, neglecting the original fans» .
When power takes over
The hood hides all the mysteries : available in petrol and diesel engines, the Velar bears 3lt V6 and 4-cylinder 2lt petrol engines. The first one can reach 100 kh/h in 5.3 seconds.
The constructor’s focus on power for this vehicle, which was devised in the same spirit as the old school Land Rovers, did not prevent him from taking the oath to safety. The driver and passengers benefit from multiple accessories devoted to high safety. The same rule applies to a smart consumption and, depending on the driving mode chosen by the buyer from the various available options, an optimal fuel consumption has been an incentive.
A faithful pledge to luxury
Luxury is one of the main prerogatives and the constructor has imagined a vehicle that incarnates it on several details : leather, the finishing lines of the cabin, entertainment devices for the rear passengers on some models and a glass panoramic roof that reinforces the bright interior.
The new Range Rover has everything to charm speed aesthetics, hi tech and luxury amateurs. The good news for those who are overwhelmed by impatience while waiting for the end-of-October local commercialization, is that several models are exposed at the Axess showroom in Pailles.
Have a joyful and safe trip on the road to power and luxury !
